Islamic schools carry a serious trust — yet too many still run on spreadsheets, paper binders, and scattered chat groups. MerkezCore is built to change that: one platform that fits how they actually work.

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,
For generations, the Islamic center — the Merkez — has been a spiritual and educational heart of our communities. In its classrooms, children take first steps into the Holy Quran, ayah by ayah, while families find guidance. It is a noble trust.
Yet in school offices and classrooms across Ethiopia, I kept seeing the same strain. Dedicated Ustazs — who should be focused on students’ recitation — were weighed down by damaged paper binders and long manual rollcalls. Parents stood in bank lines to pay tuition, then sent deposit slips into WhatsApp groups where payments got lost. Directors stayed up late balancing ledgers and teacher payroll from conflicting notebooks.
When schools tried modern software, they met generic Western platforms with no real place for Quran memorization (Sabaq, Sabqi, and Murajaah), no clean way to reconcile CBE or Telebirr transfers, and little respect for Afaan Oromoo, Amharic, and Arabic.
We started MerkezCore at Arsion Tech with one aim: the institutions that preserve our faith deserve software built carefully for them. Not an afterthought. Not a recycled corporate template. A purpose-built school system from Addis Ababa — for the Ustaz at the halaqah door, the working guardian, and the Director who needs a calmer desk.
“MerkezCore is our Amanah — a trust we hold for the schools raising the next generation. We hope you’ll build with us.”

Mainstream tools are aimed at Western suburban schools. Merkezzes work under different spiritual, cultural, and payment realities.
Generic software
Standard school software mostly understands letter grades and percentages.
MerkezCore
MerkezCore tracks Surah and Ayah milestones — new memorization (Sabaq), recent revision (Sabqi), and retention (Murajaah).
Generic software
Many Western tools expect online cards that most local parents cannot use.
MerkezCore
Parents pay offline via CBE, Awash, or Telebirr and upload receipt slips; accountants verify them in a clear ledger.
Generic software
Parents with several enrolled children are often forced into separate logins and repeated fee views.
MerkezCore
One guardian login covers 1 to 9+ children across classes and campuses, with separate fee breakdowns.
Generic software
Generic tools often offer weak translation that breaks RTL and confuses teachers.
MerkezCore
Native Arabic with full Right-to-Left layout, plus Afaan Oromoo, Amharic, and English.
Five goals that guide our product work and service to Islamic schools.
Replace damaged attendance books and spreadsheet chaos in the halaqah. Let instructors finish attendance and recitation logs in under 10 seconds so focus stays on teaching.
Connect Ethiopian payment habits (CBE, Telebirr, Awash, and cash) to a clear double-entry ledger. Every Birr paid or donated can be documented and reconciled.
Replace unanswered calls with visibility. Parents follow attendance, daily Hifz (Sabaq, Sabqi, Murajaah), and official notices on their phones with one multi-child login.
Standardize diplomas with committee signatures and QR checks, so student achievements stay authentic and easy to confirm.
Show that Islamic institutions in the Horn don’t have to settle for discarded Western templates. Build resilient, offline-tolerant software with English, العربية, Afaan Oromoo, and አማርኛ.
Four commitments that shape both the product and how we treat school data.
Your school’s data is an Amanah. Each institution’s database stays separate. No third-party ads, no student-profile tracking, and no selling community data.
We design for the halaqah. An Ustaz shouldn’t need a laptop in class. What an instructor needs fits on a phone in under 10 seconds.
Excellence matters. We build on modern, type-safe architecture (TypeScript, React, React Native, PostgreSQL) for speed and reliability.
We build for the Horn of Africa: offline caching when networks drop, light data use, and workflows that fit Islamic school life.
Software with a clear purpose
MerkezCore is designed and built by Arsion Tech — a software group based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. We build secure platforms and applications that turn traditional workflows into clearer digital tools across East Africa.
